 Together with the Historical Museum, the  Friends recently co-sponsored  an outdoor casual lunch to say "thank you" to the town's hardworking Department of Public Works employees.   The DPW team works for long hours in good weather and bad and they  have been invaluable to us in helping with our Friends activities as well as providing support and services to the library.

been selling handcrafted wreaths made

from freshlocally sourced greens and

assembled by club members

Unfortunately, the event is CANCELED this year.

Daily Book Club  

Receive chapters from popular books from the genre of your choice in your email everyday -- Monday through Friday.  The Online Book Club sends you a portion of a book that takes about 5 minutes to read.  Each Monday begins a new book and by Friday you'll have had the chance to read two or three chapters -- enough for you to decide if it is a book you'd like to finish.  Available genres include Business, Classics, Fiction, Mystery, Nonfiction, Romance, Teens, Thrillers, and more.  All it takes is your email address and five minutes a day to find a new book.

When you experience the loss of a loved one navigating through your emotions, making decisions, and finding a new daily rhythm can be both stressful and overwhelming.

These book carts were a recent purchase by the Friends to help the staff stage and organize books that have been returned and require 72 hours quarantine, before going back into circulation.

RESOURCE WE HAVE!

  • During September alone, 569 residents took advantage of curbside pickup, almost as much as the Headquarters library!

  • Ocean Library is averaging 160 walk-in visitors/day even with reduced in person hours

  • During the first two weeks of October, our library staff fielded over 230 calls for reference

The Friends of the Township of Ocean Library is an all volunteer, member supported, 

nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the programs

of the public library in Ocean Township, NJ, a branch of the Monmouth County Library system.
