The Friends are supplying resources to help the library staff create new efficient spaces and enhance current sections in the adult and children areas.
Rolling shopping carts purchased by the Friends to help bring your items to the checkout desk!
The Friends have purchased these sturdy book carts to help the staff stage and organize books that have been returned before going
back into circulation.
Thanks to the Friends the library now has plentiful, sturdy, stay-in-place bookends!
The library entered into a long term borrowing agreement with the Ocean Township Historical Museum for 20 chairs on rolling cart. This loan will be extremely helpful in providing needed seating for programs and activities without having to move the existing ones across the library
In November 2020 the Friends co-sponsored with the Museum a safe socially distanced and delicious appreciation lunch for the Ocean Twp. Dept of Public Works employees to thank the team for their exceptional support especially during the year -- but particularly during this challenging time. The DPW team work long hours in good weather and bad and have faced the challenges of the current Coronavirus situation with extreme dedication.
During this pandemic time when the Friends group has not been meeting in person we have designed a new website and provided a year's worth of informative monthly newsletters for all members. This included notices of virtual events and information on town programs and services, and informed members of library opening, closings, and procedures.
We conducted a Fall-Winter membership campaign and for the first time offered members the option
to pay dues or make donations online.
Unfortunately no book sales or book donation days have been scheduled yet -- we will let you know when we can safely resume those activities.
