A library card is your key to unlock and explore fabulous works of literature, movies, and a

host of digital resources like eBooks. 

If you need a card, please visit our library during their in person operating hours. 

You will need identification, such as a driver's license, or a recent utility bill with your address.

Our library came in second place in the County for  adults and third place for the teens and Read to Me Group!     Good job Ocean readers!

the film at your leisure and then join a virtual discussion.

Receive chapters from popular books from the genre of your choice in your email everyday -- Monday through Friday.  The Online Book Club sends you a portion of a book that takes about 5 minutes to read.  Each Monday begins a new book and by Friday you'll have had the chance to read two or three chapters -- enough for you to decide if it is a book you'd like to finish.  Available genres include Business, Classics, Fiction, Mystery, Nonfiction, Romance, Teens, Thrillers, and more.  All it takes is your email address and five minutes a day to find a new book.

VIRTUAL TEEN BOOK CLUB

 

September 16, 2020,  6 PM 

The Library is offering a just-for=teens virtual discussion of the book  "The Resurrection Girls" by Ava Morgyn.  This book tells the story of Olivia Foster who hasn't felt alive since her little brother died three years ago.  When strange new neighbors move in across the street, Olivia's new friendship helps her fog to lift.  Blending elements of the paranormal and magic, this novel includes loss, love and ultimately hope.   Moderated by Trish Shrodo.

The opening of the art show in the Terner Gallery featuring works of artist Linda Alston has been postponed and will be featured in next year's schedule on July 21, 2021.  Watch for more news about this cultural event.

Museum

The museum is open on Sundays

from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. 

The museum will NOT be open

Labor Day weekend.  

PLEASE NOTE:

FACE MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED OF ALL STAFF AND VISITORS. 

NO MORE THAN SIX GUESTS WILL BE PERMITTED INSIDE AT ONE TIME.

The Library is offering "Book-Group Kits" on topics related to exhibits on 

display at the Township of Ocean Historical Museum.  

  • Choose a title from the Library's list

  • Pick up your books at the Library

  • Arrange a date to meet as a group at the museum

  • Hold your meeting at the Museum, complete with a tour of the related exhibit if you wish.

Do you like history AND libraries?

Be part of both by becoming  a virtual volunteer.  Help the Library of Congress add notes and transcriptions to materials they have in their collection.    

In 2018 the Library of Congress started a crowd sourcing project, By the People, reaching out to the public for help in transcribing archival images and documents.
